Trauma-informed Person-centred counsellor

I have been a qualified person-centred therapist since 2012. I am a registered member of BACP

Type of Therapy

  • Trauma-informed person-centred therapist
  • Trauma integrating flow therapy (TIFT)

I trained in the Rogerian person-centred model which appealed to me as it embraces the whole person. I also have an interest in neurobiology and how a person’s childhood years affect the development of this complex system.

I have completed basic training in a therapy process called “TIFT” (trauma integrating flow therapy), developed by Dr Anandi Janner Steffan. I am currently continuing the training under her supervision.

TIFT is a psychobiological model aiming to help a person who has complex trauma transition to having a more secure, healthy way of being. I aim to work safely and gently with the person and the changes should happen naturally.

Approach

I am mainly working with TIFT as described above. It can be helpful to anyone who is experiencing a cluster of symptoms, for example, anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, relationship issues, addictions and physical symptoms of stress.

The sessions last for 1 hour and there would need to be a commitment to weekly or fortnightly sessions so that it can be useful to you. This could be lessened once you are feeling more secure.

Who I work with

Individuals over the age of 18 years
