Laura Fenn
Brief Bio
I am a qualified integrative therapist who advocates for celebrating our uniqueness as human beings and is passionate about encouraging empowerment in those struggling internally. Drawn to therapeutic training after suffering a period of depression and PTSD, I qualified as an Integrative therapist with an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy and further training in Cognitive behavioural therapy and Transactional Analysis before spending 3 years working for Mind as an Adult and Youth counsellor.
I pride myself in being a very open-minded accepting therapist and very much work for the love and passion for my vocation. Over the years I have facilitated many to enhance their well-being through an increased awareness of their plight and a client-centred approach.

Approach
The initial base of my sessions is always Person-Centred; to listen, offering compassion and warmth because I believe that personal growth flourishes in this environment.
I am passionate about the power of providing my clients with a warm, safe space without judgement, with an aim to build a relationship that will encourage the sharing of difficult thoughts and feelings. I am a believer that while you are the expert in your world, I can facilitate your growth and realisations whilst providing you with therapeutic tools such as stress, anxiety and mindfulness techniques and other therapeutic approaches when appropriate.
My aim with therapy is to help you discover the route of your problems and facilitate you to overcome them deciding the best approach for you.
In my sessions, you will always be accepted and validated.
This is your space, and we will work towards your best interests.
I work with clients both face-to-face and via Microsoft teams and offer flexible working hours.
Who I work with
I began my counselling career with Tameside Oldham and Glossop Mind where I worked as an adult counsellor and for Families in Mind. Following this, I spent a year in Youth in Mind counselling with 8- 18-year-olds, before opening my own private practice.
Over the years I have worked extensively with those suffering from trauma, bereavement, depression, anxiety, issues related to ADHD and Autism, and domestic and sexual abuse. I also have much experience working with the LGBT+ community.
The demographic of my client base is rich and diverse and my office is open to anyone and I promote the idea of celebrating our unique qualities.
