Joy Wanless
I am a relationship therapist and even from personal experience I know how much we all long to be special to our chosen other. We long to enjoy that sense of closeness, that sense of being accepted as ourselves, as we are.
Family and couple dynamics have fascinated me whilst growing up. I’ve pursued training to equip me to understand and work with others, to try to make sense of unhappiness in everyday relationships, and more importantly how to improve their relationships to enjoy closeness.
Type of Therapy offered
Emotionally Focussed Couples Therapy
Approach
After 30 years as an experienced and qualified relationship therapist and after thousands of hours working with couples, I found EFT. This is a model of therapy which I believe gives us the best chance of finding connection and safety. Published research evidence supports my belief. I am now a Certified EFT Therapist and I offer Emotionally Focussed Couples Therapy, further information at BEFT ( British Emotionally Focussed Therapy Centre) https://www.beftcentre.org. I supervise therapists and offer training in EFT. I am a Certified member of ICEEFT, (International Centre for Excellence in EFT), an accredited member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), Membership Engagement Lead for BEFT.
I am always eager to learn and grow to have even more to offer my clients, supervisees and fellow colleagues.
