Esther Calek
Hi – welcome. I imagine you are reading this because you are looking for support at a challenging time in your life. I am experienced at working with individuals, couples and families through many of the ups and downs of life.
Type of Therapy offered
- Person-Centred Therapist
- Systemic Family Therapy
Approach
I am a registered Counsellor with a Post Graduate Diploma in Systemic Practice with Families and Couples and an Msc in Counselling and Psychology. I work alongside my clients, looking at the client as an autonomous person and as part of a wider family unit. I specialise in bereavement counselling, in which I have much experience having worked in a hospital bereavement support service for several years. I am also skilled in working with a wide range of issues.
I work with some clients simply on ‘resilience counselling’; to work on their skills to empower them to deal with the daily challenges of life.
I utilise an integrative modality meaning I will use whatever suits the client and the client is comfortable with, be it CBT, Brief Therapy, Narrative therapy or Person-Centred Counselling. I also utilise mindfulness and relaxation techniques as and when the client wishes. I am committed to providing client-centred support that empowers individuals to make their own decisions.
Who I work with
I am experienced at working with individuals, couples and families through many of the ups and downs of life.
I work with clients face to face as well as by Zoom when requested. My hours are flexible and I can usually arrange an appointment within a week.
I have successfully worked with clients who are suffering from trauma, abuse, anxiety and /or depression using a range of therapy modalities.
