Reiki
Reiki is a non-invasive therapy, which channels positive energy to heal the body and mind. This form of therapy reduces stress. It aids relaxation which helps the mind and body maintain a high level of well-being. With regular sessions, Reiki can be beneficial for the treatment of anxiety, depression and trauma.
Reiki is a form of alternative medicine called energy healing. (霊気, /ˈreɪkiː/) Practitioners of this therapy use a technique called palm healing or hands-on healing. "Universal energy" is said to be transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the patient. This is done to encourage emotional or physical healing.
Reiki is based on qi ("chi"), which practitioners say is a universal life force. Developed in Japan in 1922 by Mikao Usui, it has been adapted into varying cultural traditions across the world.
